How we care for your family's information.

Plain and simple: we never sell your family's data, we never show ads to children, and parents can delete everything at any time.

1. Who We Are

Amari Learning World ("the app", "we", "us") is an interactive learning companion for children ages 2 through 17, created by the Closer Than You Think™ team. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices parents and guardians have.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When a parent or guardian creates an account, we collect the email address used to sign up, and the name associated with the account. Children do not create their own accounts.

Child profile and progress. Grown-ups can set up a child profile with an optional first name, age, and grade level. As the child uses the app, we save learning progress — books read, affirmations completed, coloring pages finished, rewards and points earned, and similar activity — so the experience picks up where it left off.

Content your child creates. Artwork colored in the Coloring Studio and other saved creations are stored so they are not lost between visits. Saved artwork is only visible within the family's own account.

Purchase information. Payments (memberships, printables, and shop products) are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers. We keep a record of what was purchased and the delivery email address so we can deliver what was bought and help with order questions.

Usage analytics. We collect basic, anonymous usage events (for example, that a coloring page was opened or a purchase was completed) to understand which features families love and to improve the app. These events do not contain personal identifiers.

Emails you ask for. If you request a printable delivery or a weekly parent summary, we send email only to the address you provided for that purpose.

3. Children's Privacy

The app is designed for children and follows the Google Play Families Policy and the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Personal information connected to a child's profile is collected only with a parent's or guardian's consent, given when the parent creates the account and sets up the profile.

Sensitive areas of the app — subscriptions, purchases, account settings, and account deletion — are protected by a parent gate, so young children cannot reach them on their own. The app shows no third-party advertising and does not track children across other apps or websites.

We never sell or rent children's personal information.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to run the app: saving each child's progress, delivering purchased printables by email, sending the notifications a parent has asked for, providing support, and keeping the app safe and improving it. We do not use children's personal information for behavioral profiling or targeted advertising.

5. Sharing With Others

We share information only with the service providers that make the app work: Stripe (payment processing), our app hosting and database provider, and our email delivery provider. Each provider processes information only on our instructions, for its specific function. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information with anyone else, and we share it only when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Account and progress information is kept for as long as the account is active. A parent or guardian can delete the account and all associated child profiles, progress, artwork, and purchase records at any time from the Parent Dashboard (Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and removes the family's data from our systems.

Parents may also contact us through the in-app Contact page to request deletion, access, or correction of personal information, and we will respond promptly.

7. Notifications

With a parent's permission, the app can send reminders such as a daily affirmation notification. These can be turned off at any time in the device's notification settings.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections and access controls — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take protecting family data seriously and review our practices regularly.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make important changes to this policy, we will update this page and change the effective date below.

10. Contact Us

Questions about this policy or about your family's data can be sent anytime through the in-app Contact page.
